These are custom interactions + some extras that are used to make custom foods, plus a script that adds the interactions to various stoves and fridges in game. They were originally posted by plasticbox in this upload but we moved them over to a group account to be able to maintain them better.

This group account is currently maintained by plasticbox, icemunmun, graycurse, necrodog and ohmysims.

Please check only with this mod before reporting script errors

Compatible with PC 1.37.35.1010 / Mac 1.37.35.1210 (12th December, 2017.)
please always make sure to keep the interaction script and package files up to date

Release Notes:

Update 22nd Dec, 2017 : Version 2-9 - Latest Version

1. Added new recipe tunings by icemunmun - Christmas Cookies
2. Added new Recipe tunings by konansock - 9 different varieties of Dumplings
3. Adjusted Autonomy of Grab Snack interaction
4. Added new recipe phase resources

Quote:
Please note that the recipe lists by members are only the announcement of upcoming recipes. We will update this post to link to the actual recipes each time new one is released. You can also use #Custom Food tag for searching completed recipes.

Installation:

  • If you update from a pbox version, make sure you remove the old files! They are renamed now, so will not overwrite automatically.
  • Make sure script mods are allowed in the game setting.
  • Unzip the zip and put BOTH .package and .ts4script files in your /Mods folder.
  • The ts4script file can go only one layer deep with folders by default. In other words, it should be either,
    Code:
    \Sims 4\Mods\mtsfoodgroup_foods-custom-interactions.ts4script, or
    \Sims 4\Mods\Subfolder\mtsfoodgroup_foods-custom-interactions.ts4script

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Halfway through cooking the interaction will be canceled and the sims will wave their arms around complaining there isn't enough space.
A: Is your game version up to date?
A: Is your food recipes version up to date?

Q2: My game version is up to date, but the [Cook Custom Meal] interaction still won't show up from stoves/fridges.
A: Have you allowed script mods in the game setting?
A: Is your Custom Food Interaction also the latest version?
A: Are BOTH .package and .ts4script files installed?
A: Is your .ts4script in the right place? Please read the Installation section for detailed information.
A: Make sure you didn't accidentally install duplicated files in different folders.

Q3: All interactions show up in game, but when I click the interactions there is no food or only certain food in the selection menu.
A: This post only provides the scripts that enable custom food to show up in game. You need to get the actual food meshes and their cooking recipes from other posts. Browse the #Custom Food tag to get custom recipes.
A: Each recipe requires certain cooking level. If your sim doesn't have enough skill, some recipes won't appear!
A: Some recipes only show up at certain times of the day. Please read the Contents of the Package section for detailed information.

Q4: Mod Conflict Detector says this mod conflicts with something. Should I be worried?
A: The Conflict Detector is an useful tool, but it can't be always right. Due to the way it detects conflicts, there are chances the tool lists an okay mod as broken or conflicted or corrupted. We'd say you don't have to be much worried about the error especially when the "conflicts" are between the mods by Foodgroup or its members. Some "conflicts " are even intended and we are fully aware of them.

Q5: My sims are obsessed to custom food.
A: It is a known issue. Please read the Known Issue section below for more information.

Q6: The script isn't translated in my language. Can I still use the script?
A: Yes, you can. Localization doesn't have to do with how the script works. English menu will appear if the interaction menus haven't translated in your language yet.

Q7: Some foods are stuck in inventory and I can't get rid of them.
A: This is a known EA issue, not something caused by custom foods. To fix this glitch, you can simply reset your sim or have the sim travel to another lot.

Localisation: Chinese (wuccwzt), Dutch (ElenaInTheSims), French (PharaohHound, cinthila), German (plasticbox), Korean (ohmysims), Spanish (gato_24), Portugese (simshout), Italian (Eαmanλ, InfinitiveSky), Polish (hubi98).

  • A lot of new strings have been added, so all of the language need to be translated now.
  • See this thread on how to translate mods if you want to contribute another language.
  • Please DO NOT send us an STBL file extracted by s4pe any more. We have found a couple of issues with directly importing string files, so would rather manually do it. You can simply translate the texts below and leave a comment or attach a text file.

How to Use

As a downloader, if the creator of a custom food links you to this post, that means you need both these interactions and the actual food in your game. This upload by itself contains no edible parts!

As a creator, if you make a custom food there are a few different ways to make it available in game – some of which require this mod and some don't:

  • Using Maxis pie menu categories – Create a custom StartCraftingSuperInteraction that lists your recipe/s, and make it use one of the existing pie menu categories (Make Lunch, Serve Breakfast etc – there's always one per crafting object (stove, fridge ..) and number of servings). You can have as many such interactions as you want; as long as they are using the same category, they will all be available in the same pie menu in game. You do not need these interactions at all for that to work.
  • Using custom pie menu categories – To use a different pie menu ( + category), like "Serve Dessert", you can make your interaction use one of the custom categories listed below, put it in your own upload, and tell people to download this mod in addition to your food.
  • Using custom picker menus – Here's where it gets hairy: picker menus (the long lists like this one ) do not currently have categories, so while you can make your own picker menu interaction(s), they will all show up individually in the pie menu. People who like to download custom stuff often like to download a lot of it, and might end up with ten different "Make Custom Meal .. " picker lists on their fridges if everyone makes their own. That's why we moved these interactions to a group account, so we can all add our foods to the same list. If you want your food to be included please consider joining the group so that you can update yourself – since that can take a little while, you can also post in the comments with the IDs of your recipes and interactions and we can add them with the next update.

See also this thread on custom foods.

Contents of the package

Miscellaneous

Compatibility:
  • This does not override anything so shouldn’t be very conflict-prone. Whether or not the recipes are available on custom stoves/fridges depends on what object tuning those are using ‒ if you find one where it doesn’t work, post a link and we can add its ID to the script.

Known Issue:
  • One user reported that it didn't work for them when they extracted with WinRAR, but with 7zip it did. So if you can't seem to get any interactions to show up in your game, try using 7zip.
  • As explained here and here, it is known that sims are obsessed to custom food. Unfortunately there isn't a clear solution for this issue for now.

Basic Download and Install Instructions:

1. Download: Click the download link to save the .rar or .zip file(s) to your computer.

2. Extract: Use 7zip (recommended), WinRAR (Windows) or Stuffit (OS X) to extract the file(s) from the .rar or .zip file(s). OS X also has a built-in utility for that (just rightclick).

3. Move: Put the extracted folder in /Mods. It contains two files (a .package and a .ts4script), you need both.

I have the same issue as below...my game is being all glitchy as well. Not sure why?!

I love this, but it shows up as conflict in TS4 Conflict Detector and so are some custom foods and Orange Blender from plasticbox I updated/re-installed all the product packages, but still shows as conflicts. My game is up-to-date. I guess that those food packages somehow are in disharmony.
I wish I knew what conflicts with what, but the TS4 Conflict Detector does not tell (sucks)

I am failing to reproduce the conflicts with Package Conflict Detector .Can you tell me exactly which files show a conflict? Are they showing as duplicates? What specific issues are you facing? This way we can narrow down the issues.

Edit: I guess you are using Mod Conflict Detector . I can see the conflicts now. Those conflicts are most likely due to the fact that some similar resources are included in the files and similar interactions are being modified. But that should not create any problems in game as the interactions are being modified using a script.Duplicate resources doesn't really pose an issue.

Can you specify what issues you are facing?

Maybe @plasticbox can shed more light on the issue!

Hi. Thanks to making this but can you make a version where you don't have to have ingredients to cook because I tried to grill at a park and I can't because I don't have ingredients with me and I mean the game's recipe not the custom ones.

I have the buy ingredients on fridge mod when I was using this so my ingredients are sent directly inside my fridge. also I kind of hate that I have to pay to cook the foods when I payed for the ingredients.

I just wanted to leave a note to say "Thank you!" for your work on this great mod. I enjoy it a lot and am looking forward to all the recipes that people will come up with in the future.

The only oddity I have noticed so far is, that my sims seem to be a little too fond of the custom recipes. They sometimes start making fruit salad, chocolate pudding and olive bread for no apparent reason - neither are they hungry nor do they have food-related traits or aspiration. Also I noticed that I seem to be able to cook meals I don't actually have the ingredients for via "Serve ..." / "Have ...". I use the "Shop from fridge" mod too, if this helps.

Default Unable to Cook or Bake in Culinary Career lots
Hello

First I shall thank you all for creating this mod. It makes the game much more enjoyable to play.

My problem is that even when I have stores of food in my inventory I am unable to cook on other lots apart from my own. I tried to put the foods from the inventory into the fridge on the lot but the game would not allow me to do this. I finally went into the cheat 'bb.showallhiddenobjects' which allowed me to stock the fridge and then I was able to cook. I downloaded the latest version of the mod and removed previous ones, unzipped it and placed it in a subfolder called modded that is within the main mods folder(perhaps I should try placing it in the main mod folder instead). My mods and scripts are enabled.

I do not know if this next problem is really a problem at all (may just be me!) or if it is even connected with the Custom Food Interactions Mod. When I cook on the culinary career lot and cook or bake, none of the sims within the lot eat it. I remember that there was also an option when clicking on food to say to other sims that dinner is ready...or something like that, but this doesn't show up. Like I said, this may not be connected with this mod at all and if not then i apologise.

I also removed (sorry for this long post) graycurse_buy_ingredients_fridge_package, but don't know if I should have. Does Custom Food Interactions need that mod? Problem was that it didn't allow me to buy ingredients for any other fridge than the one on my sims residential lot. Anyway, i suppose that is a post meant for that mod and not here.

Hope you can help. Cheers

The food obsession is a known issue...Plasticbox has somewhat explained it Here and Here >Hope that clarifies things a bit!

About being able to cook food without ingredients........That is because the ingredients are marked as optional in the recipe package itself i.e, you can cook them whether you have the ingredients or not.Without ingredients , they just have a higher cooking price.

It seems to me,that the issue is due to some other mod because I could perform the functions on other lots with custom interactions+recipes packges only. I will do some further testing. Can you please ( if you time and inclination) just test out with only this mod+recipes in your mods folder?

That does indeed explain alot! For example why it usually happens in families with a slight gardening-obsession and an utterly well stocked fridge... Thank you.

Thank you!

No I haven't uploaded the recipes yet. They are almost complete (I updated custom interactions intending to upload the recipes ) but I decided to hold on for a bit because Dine out is being released in less than 2 weeks and I am almost cent percent sure that I will have to update the recipes to work with the restaurant mechanics.I am waiting to see how big the changes required would be.
Hope you guys understand!

I will add links to the post when I upload them!

hello again. i have done as you advised. I'm a bit greedy when it comes to mods and custom content lol so this will take me some time to sort out going through everything. I can't even get the ability to buy from the fridge to work and am really missing it, even though I was only able to do it on my sims lot. I will post back when/if I find out what is perhaps causing the problem. Love your mods. Thanks for the fantastic work you put into your content. It makes the game that much more playable and interesting.

The Shop from fridge mod is not behaving properly. If you want to buy custom ingredients, you have to get it from debug mode. Can you check without the recipe overhaul mod? Which recipes have gone bust ?

Was wondering if this will be updated once Dining out comes out on 6/7/16. I know there is a lot of new recipes and cooking interactions with the new mod.

On another note I really love this mod.

I am currently updating the recipes I have uploaded( as well as some which I have not updated yet) for Dine Out.But I have to wait for the pack to be released to see whether the interactions aka this mod will require updating or not.But I cannot say anything about the recipes uploaded by pbox!

Thanks

I'm able to cook most things using the ingredients from debug except not everything shows up with the name of the food anymore.

You just need the latest one i.e, 1.5 .Having more than one version together will stop the mod from working.
