A splendid, mission style edifice switched over into a private dwelling. The hushed mumblings of that supposed 'afternoon massacre' are just rumours, really. The staff did a wonderful job of cleaning up the blood... er... dust, and the exorcism was just a formality.

Bloody Mary lives on in western culture as a mysterious figure lurking in the mirror. You may have fond memories of joining your friends in front of the bathroom mirror, chanting 'Bloody Mary' as the tension rose higher and higher until someone caved under the pressure and screamed, and then you all piled out the door in shameless cowardice.

The origin of Bloody Mary is dark, misty, and obscure. Looking back in history reveals Queen Mary Tudor I of England, who earned her sobriquet 'Bloody Mary' from her persecution and execution of hundreds of religious dissenters and their leaders. She had several miscarriages and never bore a child, which would have meant a succession in monarchy and episcopacy, and continued her policies from beyond the grave.

The most common information on Bloody Mary names her Mary Worth, whose spirit can be invoked by chanting her name three times in front of a mirror with the lights turned off. There are many versions of the myth that describe different methods to summon her and what she will do thereafter. I won't attempt to list them or briefly visit them, but looking up the details for yourself might provide an interesting read.

As you can see in the pictures, The Bloody Mary is a torturous work of many irritating counts of constrainFloorElevation false. I claim credit for all the work involved, but the visual style was inspired by Antiker's La casa el Bandido!. Unfortunately, I could not download it from the Exchange ( either the file is missing or corrupt ) and I had to recreate my version of it from the thumbnail!
