Thank you, thank you, thank you! Seriously, what was the point in including salvaged objects in the first place if they couldn't be repaired? I picked up some junk from a junkyard and was utterly disappointed to find I couldn't repair them and all I could do was replace which kinda defeats the purpose of dumpster diving in the first place. I ended up selling the stuff but I didn't get any money for it, so it seems like a totally useless feature to add to me? This makes it useful though, so tysm for making this! Seriously, this should have been in the expansion pack to begin with, such an oversight on EA's part.

I found it so damn useless for such an interesting interaction to turn out to be nothing but another way to buy an object, at full price too! Thanks!

Can you please tell where did you put the file because it seems like it doesn't work for me, items from junkyard only show salvage option

A dishwasher and stereo aren't repairable. Salvage, family inventory, lot, and there all my sims can do with it is replace it. They can sit on salvaged couches though. Mod is in my packages folder.

It does make sense to salvage objects so they work. Sadly EA dosen't think logically. Thanks for this.

What am I doing wrong? When I start the game, it shows that the mod is loaded. But the salvage option doesn't show up on anything. Just detonate. I've tried a variety of objects, in different locations (it doesn't hurt to try), with different sims. No joy. It sounds like such a great mod!

I love the idea of this mod, but it doesn't work for me. I can salvage the items from the junkyard and take them home, but when I place them in my lot they are broken and there's no option to repair them, just replace by paying with simoleons, just like it happens in vanilla game. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or maybe this mod is conflicting with some other mod? Any help would be appreciated.

Default Salvaged Junkyard Objects Made Usable Mod Works!!
This mod can be used by Origin 1.69 players. -- The mod is not broken, just fussy about what can be repaired or not.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, not all items can be repaired. Specifically only items that can be broken and repaired in the first place like some of the electronics and specially with this mod, stoves can be repaired. All other items (sofas, bookcases, exercise machines, dryers etc) don't have a repair option in the first place sadly.

Items can spawn in throughout the day. They get added mostly to the family inventory. Only a few objects spawn in a Sim-day, mostly furniture. On rare occasion, you'll get some kind of electronic object.

Charred/scratched items are still usable, but will have to pay to replace. These items can't be repaired and are worthless.

The repairable items will still have zero worth, even after being fixed.

With the oven, you might only get Fix Gas Leak, instead of Repair. You don't get the option of Replace. And they may always look burnt.

Items that are dug out of the dumpsters go into the family inventory and can be sold. These items don't need to be fixed.

Repairable: Tvs, Trash Compactor, Dishwashers, Bigger Stereos, Ovens and Fortune Cookie Maker.

Not Repairable: Furniture (couches, chairs, tables, etc.) ; BBQs, Washer/Dryer, Small Stereos.
