More Random Apartment Neighbours

I do not hate social group townies. What I do not like is how the game always put the same social group townies from its pool as my sims' apartment neighbour (I am too lazy to create my own new sims family to pu in my apartment as neighbour). I have a lot of Townified CC that I really hope to see them used in my townies as surprise factors.
So, this is what my mod does, that make it different than others random apartment residents mod out there :
1. It still include "social group townies" as apartment residents.
So, basically, this is how my mod creates apartment residents :
Low class apartment :
- Townies (33.33% chance)
- Gearheads (33.33% chance)
- Bohemians (33.33% chance)
Middle class apartment :
- Townies (33.33% chance)
- Jocks (33.33% chance)
- Techs (33.33% chance)
High class apartment :
- Townies (33.33%)
- Downtownies (33.33%)
- Socialites (33.33%)
2. There is 87.5% that this mod will force the game generates new sim as neighbour with facial characteristics and clothing from your townified items (including from your townified CCs).
The new sims will assigned to one of townie categories based on chance above (the odd chance number come from coin flip, 3 times of coin flip to be exact
I just like odd chances as surprise factors 
)
3. So, there is 12.5% that this mod will still get the sims from existing pool. If it does, this mod will try to get the townies from random index instead of the default first in first out index
This mod only affect your apartment resident neighbors selection. It should not affect walkby or visiting townies (still will be picked up from existing townies)
For example : I put Julien Crooke (premade sims from Freetime) into mobile home apartments. With my mod, I get my neighbours as follow :
- Tansy Garner (new sims, Bohemian social class)
- Rati Saarivuori (new sims, Gearhead social class)
- Matias Core (new sims, Townies)
- Michelle Tse (premade sims, Gearhead social class)
Do not like the neighbours that the game picked for you ? just exit the lot without saving and load the lot again, then you will get different neighbours, as long as you haven't saved after you choose unit to rent. I think a least this mod requires Apartment life and Nightlife, but I try this in my game with all expansion pack installed.
Conflict :
Obviously, my mod will conflict with other apartment neighbours mod.
So technically, my mod will conflict with any mod that modify these resources :
How to install
Just put my mod in Downloads folder of your sims 2 data. If this mod does not work, try to change the load order, like rename my mod to "z_pqw_randomApartmentNeighbours.package"

Update I add one more flavour where this mod only pick sims as apartment neighbour from existing townies, social groups and downtonies pool, with chances from each group still follow formula above (depends on the apartment class, see point number 1 of what my mod does) and supposedly pick random from each pool (instead of the default first in first out), but it is not supposed to create new sims unless there is no available sims from the pool to be picked. You can find the mod with "nonew" in the filename. Just install one of your choice. Remember, you can just exit the lot without saving and load the lot again to try to get different neighbours if you do not like the neighbours that the game picked for you as long as you haven't saved after you choose unit to rent. |
