Just throwing my two cents into the hat.
After reading as much as I could of the raging (and ongoing) debate on paysites vs. free, I decided some weeks ago to never again pay for a subscription anywhere. I currently have one unused Incentive Day at TSR, but that's something I earned (and continue to earn) through my previously uploaded creations; in other words, Incentives have nothing to do with a paid subscription.
I'm thankful for the cc I have that --- in the past --- I acquired by paying for a subscription, but it's not going to be the end of the world if I no longer have subscription hair or a nifty subscription item in my game (Besides, for what I consider essentials, like Cyclonesue's creations for example, I can always use my Incentive Days to download them, on a need-to basis.). I play the game to have fun, not to keep up with the Joneses. There are many places that offer great items for free: places like MTS2 and Parsimonious --- to name just a few --- and we should encourage their continued existence by downloading from them, by submitting content to them (as in the case of MTS2), and by spreading the word.
Suffice it to say, the debates encouraged me to reexamine and eventually change the way I used to view pay vs. free. The EULA is the EULA is the EULA is the EULA --- no two ways about it, no way around it.
But enough from me. If you haven't read Delphy's Mission Statement (
