This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Trying to create an empty hood but now sims 2 won't load
This is my first time trying to create a townie and NPC free neighborhood. I followed this tutorial (http://sims.wikia.com/wiki/Game_gui...an_neighborhood) and used these empty hoods (http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=520751; http://modthesims.info/showpost.php...1&postcount=80; http://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=544800). I put them all in my C drive in the appropriate places: C:/Program Files (X86)/EA GAMES / Disc Name Folder / TS Data / Res / Neighborhood Template / x00y (where x corresponds to the letter and y corresponds to the number).

After I did that, I tried to load the sims 2. I tried the actual sims2.exe and not the launcher. I tried a different disc and the corresponding executable, but still it wouldn't load. I had my task manager on during this, and nothing new popped up. The mouse would indicate that it was reading the disc and my machine would whir as if it was reading the disc, but then nothing would happen.

Does anyone have a solution for this? Thanks for reading and replying.

Did you delete the groups.cache file?

What I lack in decorum, I make up for with an absence of tact.

I didn't! I know that I didn't because I have no idea what that is. Where can I find it?

It's in your EA Games > Sims 2 folder under My Documents. You might as well delete both .cache files while you're at it. It won't hurt anything and the game will just make new ones when it needs them.
