*Captain's quarters*

Elen: *sipping her tea* True commander we all have our quirks, but I really don't mind little jokes as this as long they don't get out of hand of course. I understand the need for greener pastures I too felt a little restricted in my previous career. The boarding rooms, diplomats, ambassadors and Federation lawyers began to give me a feeling of claustrophobia. So as soon I found out that the position opened on the Radiant I begin to petition for it, luckily I had the support of influential people like Admirals Janeway and Picard. Because there was a real change that Tsongo got the commission *at the mention of Tsongo's name a cold fire is reflected in Elen's eyes.* I say it as my personal mission to prevent this from ever happening

Yes I wondered that too if Zan could be related to Dax, they do seem to share a similar tendency for mischief. Oh my look at the time we really should get some sleep.

*Holodeck*

Hrisvalar:
No the Hoobishan baths sound just what I need. I'll replicate some wine what about a Picard Vineyard or do you prefer a Chardonnay?

*Security*

Hitchcock: Aye sir.

The junior lieutenant left the office, his shoulders a little slumped. Clearly the events of the past hours are weighing heavy on his mind.

*Sickbay*

Weitz:
Doctor Riley are you feeling alright? Doctor Saval has stabilized the last patient, what shall we do with Kell and the girl? Their injuries don't require them to stay in sickbay.

Melena: Yes, you're right. I'm sorry to have bothered you for so long and thank you for the tea. Sweet dreams

*Holodeck*

Zan: Give me a Picard anyday. Hoobishan baths it is, computer activate program Zan beta one. After you, my love.

*Security*

As Hitchcock left the room, Eloran sighed heavily before making his way to his office. He would fully review the communication logs tomorrow but there was one last thing to do before returning to his quarters. He had written up an encrypted report for the organisation and needed only to edit it slightly before sending it on a secure, and as far as he knew undetactable channel. The beauty of his position was that even if the signal was detected that he would be put in charge of the investigation. It was important that he kept his other set of colleagues updated as no matter what the rest of the crew thought, he couldn't help but feel that they were perhaps about to come across a considerable threat. He wouldn't go so far as to say that another war was on the cards, but the Bajoran officer didn't think the risk was worth ignoring.

Lynda had been fully engrossed with the data trailing across the screen on her LCARS when Weitz entered her office. She smiled wearily as she stood from her desk.

Riley: I'm fine thank you, just a little tired. I believe that there have been guest quarters assigned to our patients after their recovery. I'd like to keep the girl, Ryssa, in for overnight observation. I believe Counsellor Azuma is already dealing with Kell. Here comes the night shift, you can go now if you like until next shift. I'd better dismiss the others and debrief our colleagues on night shift.

Weitz: Thank you doctor, I'll check on the quarter arrangements with Yeoman Dubois and counselor Azuma. Goodnight doctor. What in the world is that ruckus?

On the other end of sickbay an annoyed looking Saval is trying to keep Ryssa calm with little success. The young girl has decided to attack her new captures scratching and biting, screaming all kinds of insults at the beleaguered medical crew. A young male nurse is kicked violently in the groin as she makes a dash for the door. Saval tries to stop her but the child bites him in the hand making the Vulcan doctor losing his grip.

Saval: *nursing his bleeding hand* Try and sedate her.

EMT: *gets hit by a medical tricorder* Ouch she gone ballistic sir. Shouldn't we get security in here?

Saval: That could make things worst *takes cover as the child jumps towards him spitting and clawing her way across the room.* Set your phasers to stun. Where is she?

*Captain's quarters*

Elen: Sweet dreams commander, don't worry I enjoyed our chat we should do this more often.

*Holodeck*

Imura gets two glasses of replicated Picard wine. The tropical heat of the Hoobishan baths is very relaxing. She begins to disrobe and sinks herself in the hot water next to Raian.

Hrisvalar:

Lynda made her way quickly from the room and witnessed the carnage before her. Before she could do anything though, Kell entered the main sickbay with Mizuki. Both looked around nervously before Kell spotted the girl at the far side of the room. Despite his better judgement, he made his way over to the young Hagedissan and tried a for mof telepathy that could be used to calm children of his own species. Whilst this was going on, Lynda made her way over to the team, whom she had been about to dismiss for the night, to check on their injuries.

*Holodeck*

Zan: Yeah, thats definately better. Spotted pink skin huh? Not the first time I've heard that one, nor for the little guy come to think of it. I should probably be a little more respectful to something thats lived three and a bit lifetimes but who cares about that. The only lifetime I care about is right now and heres to spending it together. It's not the same without a little music is it? Depending on the music of course, Earth metal and Klingon Opera are very hard to relax to.

Hrisvalar smiles at Zan, she has absolutely no idea what Earth's metal has to do with music. She plays with his hair as her antenna's playfully cares his forehead.

The appearance of the Caudalien Kell seem to have an effect on the young girl. She stares at him with her strange yellow eyes as if she doesn't understand a word he is saying all the while sitting still. Nurse Weitz takes this opportunity to give the girl a meld sedative and lifts her up onto the nearest biobed. The child had managed to trash a good part of sickbay, several medical instruments were damaged and at least five people were wounded during her attack. Weitz wonders if this traumatized little girl will ever have a normal life again, it seems all she knows is violence.

Weitz: *Turns to Kell and counselor Azuma* How did you do that?

Saval: It's minor doctor Riley *the bones are showing where she bite him* She is surprisingly strong for such a small creature.

Riley: Nurse Weitz can tell us that. Thank you Kell. *scans Dr. Saval* I'd hardly call it minor doctor, but it shouldn't be too much trouble to clean up. Yes, her species remind of the Gorn in both looks and temperment. It would be best to keep her restrained overnight so that we may observe her. Hopefully in the morning she can be released into the care of Counsellor Azuma.

*Holodeck*

Zan: Well you could hardly call it music, it's kinda like of rock music but louder and the guys seem to scream rather than sing. Personally, I hate it but my room mate at the academy played very loud and very often. Wonder if he still does? You know, the whole point of joining is sharing knowledge and experiences so whats the point if you can't have a little fun along the way? I wasn't chosen for this but if life throws you lemons, make lemonade. It's another old Earth saying and basically means make the most of what life throws at you. I hope you never change either. I hope you don't mind me saying, but a lot of women of your species are a little on the aggressive side, like Tara, but you're so sweet natured.

((ooc: poor counselor Azuma now she has to deal with two furies))

*Sickbay*

Weitz: Physically she should be fine, but psychologically she has a long way to go I'm afraid.

The replacement shift begins cleaning up the mess and tend to the injured. The Hagedissen girl has cuddled herself up on the biobed, the sedative is clearly doing it's work. A forcefield is placed around her for her and their safety. Yeoman Dubois walks over to counselor Azuma and Kell, a surprised look is displayed on his face as he looks at the disorderly state of sickbay and seriously injured Saval.

Dubois: Lt. Azuma I've found rooming for Kell on Deck 7 quest quarters 12B. Do you want to escort him to his quarters or do you want me to do it?

*Holodeck*

Hrisvalar: Oh I see, I'm not familair with that sort of music but I'll take your word for it. It's a cliché like all Vulcans are logical or all Ferengi are motivated by profit. I'm surprissed that you think in such stereotypes *half teasing, half serious*

She aggressively kisses Raian before he has to time to respond but her aggressiveness is quickly replaced by tenderness and softness. Imaru isn't one to be as forward as most Andorian women and doesn't like to domineer people so this act is very out of place for her.

Hrisvalar: I wish we could stay here forever *her finger softly tracing Raian's lips*

Mizuki nodded in gratitude to Dubois and then turned to her betailed companion. Kell's expression was strangely neutral and therefore pretty hard to read for all but a Betazoid, but the Andorian/Human counsellor knew that at the very least he was very troubled. He had said very little during their discussion but insisted that he was willing and able to attend the meeting scheduled for tomorrow. He caught her gaze and nodded solemnly as he made clear that it was perfectly fine for the Yeoman to lead him on to his sleeping quarters. As he left quietly, Mizuki sighed before aiding in the clean up of sickbay.

As Raian was about to explain that what he said had been meant as some kind of complimet, he was instantly taken aback by the sudden ferocity and passion of Imaru's kisses. The words on his tongue were quickly lost in the moment as he returned her affections with equal zest, becoming more gentle as she did. Afterward he sighed as he responded to her wish.

Zan: Me too, but would forever be enough? and they say the joined can't love. *places a gentle finger on her lips in a playful manner* Shhh, don't tell the Symbiosis Commition.

Hrisvalar: *kisses his finger as she responds with singing an ancient earth sung written by Nina Simone. Her voice is full with with melancholy and love*
Quote:
And now we are one Let my soul rest in peace At last it is done My soul has been released For thousands of years My soul has roamed the earth In search of you So that someday I could give birth To know joy, joy, joy, joy, joy Joy and peace is mine Peace divine And now we give thanks Give thanks for each other At peace forever For it is done At peace forever For we are one

Imaru had never sung to anybody before, it was a private intimate part of her reserved for only herself. But she felt so completely connected with Raian that she wanted to share her heart and soul, to achieve a perfect moment of intimacy and love. Her silver white hair floats onto her shoulders as it comes undone. She looks like an ancient Andorian painting, a vision of love and grace. Imaru wonders if this is what perfect bliss feels like.

*Bridge - next morning*

Caeli arrives at the bridge to start his morning shift, as usual he is a little early. He is reading up on the latest rapports on their present situation, still no profile on the aliens that used the space station for their Frankensteinesque lab. They remain elusive almost an enigmatic puzzle. He wonders if counselor Azuma had any luck in getting a physical description on the others from Kell, he seemed reluctant to talk about his captures. He takes the seat right of the captain as he begins putting in data into his station. The captain and commander will soon arrive.

Raian was the next to enter, whistling as he did so. He acknowledged Korvin's presence with a smile and nod before making his way over to the helm. He checked the ships course as Melena entered and struck up a conversation with the officer who had been left in charge of the night shift. It appeared that there had been no major problems, much to her relief, and so she was free to relieve the officer and take her seat to the left of the captains chair. She smiled as she finally got around to greeting the two senior officers already present.

Melena: Good morning lieutenants, sleep well?

Zan: Morning sir. Yes thank you.

Melena: Thats good. It seems we had no major problems during the night, although it seems we're off course a little.

Zan: I know, adjusting course now.

*Counselors Office*

Mizuki sighed as she sat back in the medium blue swivel chair and sighed as she studied the computer screen on it's small, round perch. Her first appointment was with one Lt.Cmdr. sh'Raazh and, if the introductory meeting was anything to go by, would be a rather difficult one. She glanced around the room, with it's plush, pale green carpet and sky blue walls, until her eyes stopped upon the painting on the wall. It was an Earth painting created by a Claude Monet during the 19'th century. Gazing at it's clear, tranquil, waters and a backdrop of lush greenery always calmed her. Of course, nothing like that really existed on the frozen moon of Andoria, although it did have breath taking sights of it's own. The andorian/humans reverie was broken by the harsh sound of the chime on her door. She sighed as she stood and straightened her uniform before responding.

Azuma: Enter.

*Counselor's office*

sh'Raazh felt like she went through hell and back this morning. The events of the night before combined with a massive hangover from the Romulan Ale made her feel rather sick. She also feels quite ashamed for losing it like that, she always thought of herself as composed, not one to dwell on the past. The truth was she never gave herself time to do so, she suppressed her feelings her grieve and most of the time she was successful in doing so. But not last night, somehow seeing the young ensign collapsing and the images of tortured people on the station brought back long repressed feelings of guilt, shame and grieve. She enters Azuma's office without a word. She is surprised to see a replica of a French impressionist painting, she isn't sure whom the artist is but she always felt that impressionistic art looked the same. She also notices a woodblock print of The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Katsushika Hokusai. That print always reminded sh'Raazh of the Andorian Cajuns in the north a beautiful and savage place where a violent sea was frozen for all eternity just like this print. Her family owned a house there and as a child she spent whole vacations over there climbing the mountains of frozen water to get a beter look at stars just dreaming of freedom and adventure. Sadly that carefree girl was long gone replaced by a bitter, aggressive and argumentative woman. She hadn't notice those before it makes her wonder if the counselor had begun decorating the place since the last time she had been there. Clearly the counselor wanted to create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere but pretty pictures aren't going to help anybody. sh'Raazh takes a seat and stares at a blue wall.

sh'Raazh:
*rather rude* You've changed the place *an attempt to avoid talking about herself*

*Bridge*
Caeli gave a short nod and smile to lieutenant Zan before turning back to the reports of the scans they took all night. The ship had been on a rather stationary course for now. He looks up at the commander, he can't but help how attractive she is. The raven black hair and green skin give her an undeniable radiance. He quickly shakes his attraction off, after all this wasn't the place and responds to her question.

Caeli
: Yes thank you commander. Have you read the latest updates about the home worlds of the Caudaliens and Hagedissen? We have a big problem here with the prime directive, neither of them have warp technology.

*Brig*

Tahlandi is standing in front of the big door breathing in, breathing out. Is this the right decision, what will he gain by talking to Mirok Elias. The words of commander Hal are still fresh in his mind, Mirok cannot be trusted. But is this true, shouldn't everybody have a change at redemption? Tahlandi takes on last breath and enters ready for the confrontation.

*Counselors Office*

Mizuki noticed the hostile tone but chose to ignore it for now. She wouldn't be much use as a counselor if she reacted to every little thing after all. She had expected this anyway and smiled as she carried on regardless.

Azuma: Yes I have, I think it gives the place a more homely feel. I'm quite fond of art myself, particularly Monet and ancient Japanese. Do you like art? You didn't say what I could call you last time. How are you feeling today?

*Bridge*

Melena: *grimaces* I have lieutenant. The Hagedissan homeworld seems to be approximately equivalent to 21st century Earth and has the technology to detect us in orbit. Cauda iv meanwhile is a rather primitive world that under normal circumstances would probably be around Earths medieval period, if not a little earlier. We detected Dominion technolgy there though didn't we? I'm sure Kell said something about the population being enslaved.

Zan: Sounds like we're in a pickle. Sometimes I wonder if the prime directive's more trouble than its worth. I know its there for a reason but surely we can bend the rules a little in a situation like this? Somehow beaming those people home and expecting them to carry on with their lives doesn't sit right.

Melena: Unfortunately, obedience of the prime directive is of the utmost importance and must be abided by at all costs. You of all people should know that Zan. I agree that it leaves us with a problem, but that can be discussed later in our scheduled meeting.

Zan: Course I do, I've been a Starfleet officer for two lifetimes. I know what needs to be done but it doesn't mean I agree with it. I think Yulia would have said the same, or thought it more likely anyway.

*Bridge*

Caeli: Well I agree with the commander the prime directive is our most important value. But there is already cultural contamination, because of the Dominion and a third party. Plus I must admit that Lt. Zan has a valid point we can't just ignore what is happening to those poor people, they are being abused in the most gruesome fashion. Yes there is Dominion technology on the Caudaliens and Hagedissen's home worlds but it's old approximately one hundred years and hasn't been used for 17 years according to our scans. More troubling are these readings, commander. Unknown warp signatures the most recent ones date from a week ago and several bio mechanical structures on the surface. Engineering is trying to determine their function.

At that moment captain Elen walks onto the bridge she notices her three senior officers in deep conversation. She nods at a junior science officer as she gracefully slides into the captain's chair.

Elen: What's the news?

Caeli: Captain, we were disguising our present situation.

Elen: I see anything new?

*Counselor's office*

sh'Raazh: I like ancient Andorian tapestry. I was never fond of Earth's art. Just call Lt.cmdr. we are not friends or equals I'm only here because Star Fleet forced me to be here. I'm feeling on top of the world today, why are the rumors already flying that I lost it in Astrometrics, let me assure you counselor it will not happen again.

sh'Raazh defenses go up and she defiantly stares the young Andorian/human woman down as if to say try me. She doesn't want to admit her emotions to herself or anybody else. She doesn't want professional empathy how can Azuma ever understand the loss, the big gapping black hole that is in her heart. Nothing will ever erase the death of her son. Her antenna's betray her sadness as they hang limp on her head.

Tahlandi is standing before the cell of Mirok Elias. Both men stare at each other not knowing who will make the first move. Mirok opens his mouth but no sound escapes it. Mirok: Thank you for coming Lieutenant.

Melena: I realise that the structures are very old but they're still there and suggest the cultural contamination that we have already heard about.

Zan: Those warp signatures match the ones that I picked up in asto-metrics anywhere. They're very similar to ones that were picked up by the Athena during one of its missions in which we had to fight off an unknown species. We didn't see who they were though, they wore helmets and armour rather like the Breen but more humanoid. I've been trying to cross-reference that data with our own but no look so far. I added the information about what happened on the Athena to the updates in case it was relevant.

Melena: Thank you lieutenant. I hope we have some answers soon, although I'm more concerned about how we're going to get our guests home safely. Good morning captain. Yes, we were discussing the latest updates regarding our current little crisis. Did you read the updates sir?

*Loral's Quarters*

The sound of Klingon Opera could be heard blaring from Loral's quarters. Listening to her favourite pieced helped to clear her mind before the day ahead, although the Starfleet officers also residing on that deck would probably not agree. She sat at her personal LCARS as she composed a report for the Klingon Empire with whom she served. She growled a little at the interruption as she heard the chime on her door, albeit barely over the rendition of Aktuh and Maylota. Some of them need medical attention that their home worlds cannot provide. And than there is the Prime Directive, whatever we do, we need to think this through. Lt. Zan any ships in the vicinity.

Tahlandi takes out Bajoran prayer candles and looks at Mirok. So far their conversation has been strained. The young ensign is nervous and edgy. It's clear he wants to say something but everytime he seems on the verge to tell him his eyes glance over at the security officer at the security panel.

Tahlandi: Do you have a preference for a prayer before we begin?

Mirok: Anything will do. *almost whispering* How well do you know Lt.cmdr. Hal.

Tahlandi: What do you mean? I thought you wanted spiritual guidance, if you have issues with Lt.cmdr...

Mirok:

Melena: Alright, we'll get you and Lt.Cmdr. Hal, wherever he is, to work on that when we get close enough for full scans.

Zan: Not too close I hope, or we'll be wasting our time sir.

Melena: I am aware if the prime directive, but there are exceptions in the event that an earlier violation needs righting or accidental contamination had occured.

Zan: I'd hardly call this 'accidental contamination'.

Melena: No, but I would call it a previous violation. These people have been enslaved previously by the Dominion and something is effecting them again. It seems we may need to get involved somehow and in as discreet a fashion as possible.

Mizuki had expected this reaction and showed no real sign of irritation other then a rigid twitch of her antenna. She of course knew a fair bit about loss as she has lost her older sister during the Dominion war. She had been an ensign whilst Mizuki was at the academy and the two had been extremley close. After a brief, yet uncomfortable pause, the Andorian hybrid smiled whilst trying hard not to appear exasperatated. She wouldn't be doing her job if she gave in easily to emotions, after all.

Azuma: Perhaps it was wrong of me to be so forward but keeping your feelings locked inside isn't going to help anyone, especially not yourself. It's a step in the right direction that you are making your feelings clear but you must find a way of releasing the pressure of the bound emotions. sh'Raazh: No I don't see any merit in your suggestions, sorry I meant to say I didn't find the time yet. Are we done here. I've got a shift to attend too.

sh'Raazh's body language has become more and more rigid. Her antenna's hang on her head betraying her moodiness. She tries hard to give off an air of invulnerability but clearly she isn't fooling Azuma and this frustrates her, she is also the first counselor not to back down when she gets into her aggressive mode. She wonders if this is why captain Elen opted for an Andorian counselor.

*Bridge*

Caeli: what about taking the cloaked shuttle Worf?

Elen: We need to get permission from our liasion officer but it would limit cultural contamination. Lt. Zan take the ship closer but keep out of range of those satellites. Ensign Termont keep scanning for ships. *taps combadge* Lt.cmdr. Hal please report to the bridge.

Woods and Loral arrive at the bridge amicably talking in Klingon about the finer points of Klingon Opera and the appropriate decibel level to listen to it.

*Hagedissen Moon*

Buried deep in the moon of the Hagedissen home world a small base is hidden. A large yellow and black colored creature resembling a giant vaguely humanoid wasp is looking at read outs. The screen is reflected in it's large multi layered eyes, his transparent wings flutter excitedly. The space station they had conquered twenty years ago has exploded but more interesting is the ship that appeared in their space. They had encountered such a vessel some years ago when they had accidentally created a wormhole and their scans reveal that the specimen of interest (Zan) is aboard this vessel too. A second change to study this rare specimen. He alerts the nearby fleet hidden deep in the cores of the Hagedissen and Caudaliens home worlds to intercept. Their ships are biological in origin and almost impossible to detect when they hide inside planets, giving them a rare advantage.

((ooc: Is our dear security chief spying on the untrustworthy Mirok? I just had this quirky idea that maybe the Klingons outfitted some shuttles with cloaks hope you don't mind this idea. Hope the description of the aliens works for you. I deliberately let their physical appearance somewhat vague because I like your suggestion that they are Breen like in appearance. Maybe their suit is designed to make them appear more humanoid or to protect their bodies from harm.))

((OOC: No problems there. I'm not sure what the armour is for exactly, I was also being deliberately vague so we could work out the details together. Sounds like our motley crew is in for a tough time. Is this a bad time to mention I'm scared of wasps? Jk, lol! As for Hal, I suppose it would make sense considering that he could jeapoardize his own personal mission. Maybe the brig officer has been ordered to do it for him in the guise of 'keeping a close watch'?))

*Bridge*

As the call went out for Eloran, he appeared on the bridge as. He had been busy analyzing data from the recent incidents and had lost track of time. He had also been working on a way to keep a close eye on ensign Mirok. Although it had become apparent that he had been working for Section 31 in some fashion, it was possible that the young Bajoran/Cardassian still had things to hide that may incriminate him. He had mentioned Mirok in his encoded report to the organisation but had not heard back from them. His eyes met with Cmdr. Melena's, he nodded in acknowledgement as he suddenly remembered that before all else, he was a Starfleet officer.

Melena: Your late, lieutenant commander. Lt. Loral, I'm sorry to disturb your conversation but there is something we wish to discuss with you. We would like to secure permission to use the cloaked shuttle Worf to investigate the Hagedissan homeworld.

Loral: I see, it would limit cultural contamination and comply with your Starfleet regulations.

Hal: That would be the most prudent course of action, except theres not much contamination left to prevent.

Melena: I'm sure that we would prefer not to cause any more damage, although I do agree with you to a point. What is your answer lieutenant?

Loral:...very well. It is part of our agreement.

Melena: Thank you. Captain?

*Counselors Office*

Azuma: Yes, you had better report to the bridge before we both receive a reprimand. Joking aside, I would like a little more time for our next appointment. I will let you know thw details, I'm a very busy woman at the moment you'll understand. Some of the crew haven't taken parts of this mission very well. Please do try those exercises when you have a moment as in my experiance they can prove very beneficial. I look forward to our next meeting, lieutenant commander.

*Guest Quarters*

Kell paced around his quarters, sighing hevily as he did so. It was the first time since his early childhood that he had been free to explore, never mind enjoy his surroundings and he felt both happy and a little apprehensive. He was familar with the phrase 'when things are to good to be true, they usually are', after all. He was particularly taken with the sickbay as he had wanted to be a doctor in his early days. A foolish childhood dream perhaps, but he had always held on to the hope that one day things would be different. Maybe he would ask to remain on board rather than be returned to his home as there was nothing left there for him now anyway. As he pondered this some more he suddenly felt a strong sense of anxiety and danger. He didn't know what, but he felt that some great peril was coming there way. He found himself panicking a little as he did not know how he could warn anyone. He ran outside his quarters in the hope of meeting someone in the corridor who would hopefully believe him.

((ooc: I'm not overly fond of wasps myself. I just thought a over sized stinging insects taking an interest in Zan would be quite unnerving for the poor lad seeing joined Trills are extremely allergic to insect bites.))

*Corridor - outside Kell's quarters*

Thellin and Hrisvalar are walking and talking about this and thats when they walk into a panicked Kell. Thellin can feel the dread and fear taking over the young Caudalien, for some reason the Caudaliens telepathy is overpowering for Thellin but this time he manages to close his mind although not completely. Hrisvalar notices that both men are turning very pale and share the same panicked expression.

Hrisvalar:
*rushes to Kell* What's going on, is everything alright?

Thellin:
He's afraid something is coming Imura, something dangerous. I can feel it too.

Hrisvalar: What are you talking about *fear in her voice* Are you having one of your telepathic intuitions again?

Thellin doesn't respond he and Kell are in some sort of telepathic link, they share their thoughts and feelings both feeling the danger that is nearing. Hrisvalar not sure what is happening decides to call for help.

Hrisvalar:
sickbay to Deck 7

*Bridge*

Elen listened very carefully to her senior staff as they discuss their situation and their options without much interference. She knew this situation should be handled with care and she also had to struggle like all of them with the sacred prime directive but ultimately whatever the decision is going to be it will be her responsibility. She stands up and walks towards Loral.

Elen: Thank you lieutenant Loral for your help. I think it's best that you will lead the mission seeing the shuttle belongs to the Klingon Empire. But I must remind you must abide to the rules of Star Fleet *emphasis on the last words*. You will have Lieutenants Woods, Caeli, Zan, Tahlandi and of course Lt. cmdr. Hal at your disposal. *Looks at the navigational data. Lt. Zan set a course to the sixth planet an use it's atmosphere to shields from the Hagedissen their satellite network. We must keep our eyes open, I find it highly suspicious that we have found no trace of any ships in this system. I suggest we work under assumption their ships are either cloaked or hiding. Lt.cmdr. Hal rise shields and stand by phasers I will not be taken by surprise a second time.

Some of the officers on the bridge are surprissed that Elen decides to leave this delicate mission in the hands of the Klingon woman, who is neither Star Fleet or the ranking officer. Caeli isn't all that surprissed, working with Elen for almost three years now has learned him to expect the unexpected. He also knows that Elen wants their liasion officer to integrate into the crew as smoothly as possible and letting her leading a crucial mission could achieve this goal. Also putting their chief of security and chief strategic officer on the vessel insures the captain that Star Fleet's interest are being looked after in the best possible way.

*Counselor's office*

sh'Raazh:
Yes I will try to get around the exercises counselor.

sh'Raazh stands up and walks towards the door glad to get back to work where she mustn't think about her feelings or trauma's from the past.

*Planet's core*

The fleet of the Hind is preparing their fleet to intercept the Radiant. These preparations will take at least an hour or more but time is no factor here. The planet's core keeps them safe from scans and by the time their victim is aware what is going on it will be too late. In their minds the spiderweb had been cast.

((ooc: Thellin is not in danger just a little surprissed by the sudden sensation of sharing Kell's mind. I based this a little on a Vulcan mind meld and the telepathy he used on the Hagedissen girl to calm her down but without touching or the intention of doing so. Hope this is okay with you?))

((OOC: Good point, I'm starting to feel a little sorry for Raian now, lol. As for Kell, I suppose it makes some kind of sense.))

*Bridge*

Loral is a little taken aback, although she his it well, by the captains decision to place her in command of the away team. She supposed it was Starfleets way of testing her loyalty whilst serving with them. Captain Elen was partially correct about the shuttles belonging to the Klingon Empire so maybe it would work out for the best if she could control how the cloaking technology was used. She nodded gruffly as she spoke.

Loral: I understand captain. We leave at once?

Zan: Course laid in sir.

Melena: I see what you mean, theres something not right around here.

Hal: Shields up, phasers standing by. I haven't detected anything even resembling a ship or station, but thats not to say they aren't there. Ops, have you picked up anything?

*Corridor*

Kell had calmed a little by the time he saw the two young officers passing by and approached. It appeared that the male had some form of telepathy as he inadvertantly opened a link between their minds. He knew by the look on his face that the message had been received and understood. The only problem now would be breaking the link as the last time he had done this resulted in the death of the other participant. Of course that link had been meant to do just that, though it was not something he was proud of, but he had yet to be trained properly in using his abilities.

*Corridor*

Thellin managed to end the unexpected telepathic link with some difficulty, he was surprised by how strong it was. As he gets up he looks at his worried friend and then at the young Caudalien man.

Thellin: Sickbay belay that request. *turns to Kell* we should get to the bridge and inform them of what we just experienced. Is it normal for your people to have such strong intuitive sense of approaching danger?

Hrisvalar: What is happening Sorjei?

Thellin: I'll explain later.

*Bridge*

Petrova: No sir, wait I'm picking up an energy signature on the surface. It's gone it could simply be background radiation.

Elen: Yes Lt. Loral. Commander Melena take over the helm. You have one hour to do a preliminary investigation and will not engage unless it's absolutely necessary.

Caeli raises from his chair to follow their Klingon liasion officer at the same moment sh'Raazh enters the bridge and takes over the ops station. She gives Zan a quizzical look, why is he leaving his post? Ensign Petrova quickly fills the Andorian woman in with some of the details as the lieutenant commander takes over from her.

sh'Raazh: Thank you ensign, keep safe Raian. I'll see if I can increase the resolution of our sensors just in case it isn't background radiation.

*Brig*

Mirok and Tahlandi are in the middle of a Bajoran prayer when they are interrupted by the call for Tahlandi to report to shuttle bay 1 for an away mission with the Worf.

Tahlandi: I'm sorry we shall have to do this later, how about tomorrow 0600 hours.

Mirok: *gruffly* I suppose.

for a moment it seems if Mirok wants to say something but again he decides against it. Ensign Sims is clearly listening in and Mirok can't help but wonder if she is there to spy on them for commander Hal or is he just being paranoid. He sits back in his cell as Tahlandi leaves.

((OOC: Yeah, gotta love that pooch. So cute! Don't worry, I'll let you know when I'm not happy with something as I'm sure I could count on it vice versa.))

*Bridge*

As the away team left the bridge, Raian acknowledged sh'Raazh with smile and nod. Melena took the helm as ordered and checked that they were still on course, although she had no real need to as she didn't doubt Zan's abilities. She glanced over to the ops station as Lt.cmdr. sh'Raazh took a seat beside her.

Melena: Good idea, we don't want our away team to run into any trouble out there.

*Corridor*

Kell: We have mild forms of telepathy and empathy normally, but Ithink they did something up there to increase those abilties. You're right, but will your captain listen? It's just an intuition after all and I can prove nothing. Um, sorry if I scared anyone.

*Shuttlebay 1*

As the away team approached the Worf, Raian and Eloran were the first to enter. The interior of the delta flyer class, expanded on from the design concept taken from USS Voyager after it's return form the Delta Quadrant, was far less cramped than most Federation vessels and would easily accomodate the five man away team.

Raian eagerly took the helm as he began keying in the predecided co-ordinates for their mission. He also checked up on the status of the cloaking device as the whole mission would be pointless without it. Eloran meanwhile, was checking the status of the weapons and shields, just in case they ran into any trouble. The Worf was equipped with photonic missiles and unimatrix shielding, Borg technology which would hopefully be enough to counter any kind of threat they might run into. The Bajoran did not approve of use the technology that had been used to destroy the free will of billions but hopefully it would be for a just cause one day.

Loral remained outside in waiting of the only officer that was yet to arrive, Lt. Tahlandi. Given the Klingons history with Cardassians, she would much rather have left the p'tak behind but to disgrace her position with her own personal thoughts would only bring dishonour upon herself and the Klingon Empire.

((ooc: I like that Loral feels so ambiguous towards Tahlandi poor lad being Cardassian in the Star Trek universe most really suck, :-). BTW I like the idea of Kell wanting to stay and become a doctor, reminds me of Kes on Voyager. Quick question does Kell know what his captures look like or not?))

*Corridor*

Thellin:
I don't know but she will not dismiss it easily, seeing Deltans are telepaths and empaths themselves plus in Star Fleet several telepathic species serve so that also helps your case.

Hrisvalar:
Don't worry about it. How do you mean expanded your abilities? *Remembers that the space station was used as a lab* Oh my *goes quite and struggles with her tears of indignity because of the injustice brought upon the young Caudalien*

Thellin is half walking half running to the bridge with a sense of urgency. Of course just dropping in on the bridge with a civilian isn't exactly regulation but desperate times call for desperate measures. What he felt in their brief telepathic connection was intense and fearsome and if Kell's intuition is right they are in grave danger.

*Bridge*

Elen herself takes the tactical array to the surprise of the junior bridge officers and Tara. Elen, although a diplomat is also very hands on when the situation requires it. She looks at the scans and like Petrova said it could be simply background radiation but the patron is a little odd none the less.

Elen: I agree good thinking commander sh'Raazh *taps com badge* away team are you ready for departure?

sh'Raazh: *turns towards Melena* That's a first, have you ever known a captain to take the tactical array like that?

*Shuttlebay 1*

Woods takes the engineering consul and checks the warp parameters and also double checks on the cloaking device. It's the first time he has seen a Klingon cloak up close, he has some experience with the cloak on the Defiant but that was Romulan in origin and a different instrument altogether. He also checks on the Borg modifications made to the shuttle, ever since the return of Voyager Star Fleet has begun employing certain Borg characteristics within their engineering designs with varied degrees of success. Woods has a certain ambiguity towards this trend: the Borg had destroyed millions of cultures but on the other hand it's hard to deny that this technology has great strategical and technical advantages. As an engineer the opportunity to test out new technology even if they are questionable in origin is a challenge. But the implementation of Borg technology was still very controversial and many believed that using it was equal to selling ones soul to the Devil. Woods understands this point of view but at the same time the first space vessels were modeled after the destructive German V1 and V2 bombs that laid ruin to Europe. In the end there was nothing inherently evil about Borg technology but the technology is stigmatized because of it's association with one of the most destructive races in the universe. Caeli is sitting in a chair writing up a preliminary report and recalibrating some of the sensors. It's the first time he is inside the Worf. Of course he is well aware of how this shuttle came to be as a joined project between the Klingon Empire and Star Fleet, a Delta Flyer class shuttle fitted with a cloak.

Tahlandi walks into the shuttle bay and is greeted by their Klingon liasion officer. Tahlandi feels a little uneasy when he gazes upon Loral, he always had the feeling that she didn't particular care for him. Klingons were known for holding a grudge and most of them saw Cardassians as cowardly opportunists with no honor. He would be surprissed that Lt. Loral would feel any different but in truth he never bothered to find out, he mostly just stayed out of her way. The only time they had been in close contact was at the captain's diner the other day.

Tahlandi:
Lt. Tahlandi reporting for duty sir

Caeli: *head peeks out of the shuttle* We are ready to disembark captain Loral

*Corridor*

Kell: Wow, your Starfleet sounds pretty cool. I'd like to find out all about these different species but now isn't the time? Don't worry about me Imaru, theres no need to get worked up on my account. I'm fine now...hang on, you haven't introduced yourself have you? Nows not the time though.

*Bridge*

Melena: No, but Cpt. Elen is known for her at times unorthodox methods. Keeps the job interesting. Ensign, crewman, can we help you? Why have you brought a civilian to the bridge?

*Shuttlebay 1*

Loral tried to keep her expression neutral as the Cardassian finally made an appearance. She resisted the snarky comment that had almost escaped her lips and ushered him roughly inside the shuttle. She nodded curtly at the Bolian lieutenant and entered the shuttle herself, taking her seat in the command chair behind the Trill helmsman. The shuttlecrafts design had been altered slightly to accomodate this as the Delta Flyer was used more and more often and the modification had become neccessary. She tapped her Starfleet issue combadge in response to her current commanding officer.

Loral: We are ready. Permission to disembark?

*Bridge*

As the bizarre trio consisting of a young Caudalien man and two Andorian officers enter the bridge, they are met with a reprimand by the XO. Hrisvalar turns a deeper shade of green and tries not to giggle because of her nerves.

Thellin: Sorry ma'am but Kell has some important information. I accept full consequences of this action. Crewman Hrisvalar was acting under my orders.

Elen:
What was so important that it couldn't be discussed over the com Ensign? *turns to Kell* What is going on? *friendly sensual tone*

sh'Raazh: You are cleared for departure, safe journey. Commander are you also seeing these readings *strange energy signature emitting for the planets surfaces*

*Shuttle bay 1 - Worf*

Rann is a little taken aback by the rather uncermonial way he is pushed into the shuttle but says nothing of. He silently takes the science station and looks at Lt.cmdr. Hal and Lt.jg. Zan, he is unsure if he should discuss his conversation with ensign Mirok with them. Was there any reason, most of it was just paranoid rambling by a troubled young man. But Zan was his legal adviser of sorts so maybe he should take some of Mirok's concerns up with him but that shall have to wait for now. He feels a slight bump as the shuttle prepares for take off, he wonders if he is the only fleet officer that feels squeezing during this procedure.
