Default Is there a safe way to extract the sims from the tutorial house without corrupting my hood and/or game?
I actually asked this question not too long ago on the Stupid/random question thread a couple months but since my question never got answered amidst with all the other question and answers I thought my question would get more attention if I just post it in the Sims 2 section but anyways is there a way to extract the sims from the tutorial neighborhood without any corruption? I love the characters Joe and Jane in them I would love to put them into my neighborhood but not at the risk of corrupting my hood. SimPE can only read the main neighborhoods but not the tutorial neighborhood.

Last time I knew, it is not possible, because over at MATY, SaraMK had done it and the results were not good. There's no neighborhood template to go with it, and that's the reason you're not supposed to do anything with the tutorial besides play through it. You can't really do much with them. I couldn't find the original thread there, but here's a screenshot of it:

extracting the Tutorial characters is not much different than any other neighborhood's characters.
1. Open neighborhood in SimPE.
2. run SimPE's Sim Surgery.
3. select the character.
4. click the "use" in Patient area.
5. click "Extract".
6. type a different filename then click "Save".
7. if there are any other characters you want to extract from same neighborhood, repeat from step 3 with each of them. then close Sim Surgery.

@FranH - I think the OP's really interested in just the tutorial Sims, not the entire hood. Although I think it'd not come up in the SimPE neighbourhood selection, I think you could browse to the folder and open it that way.

EDIT: Hm, I tried, and all the Sims are "unknown" and the Sim Surgery just fails.

Put this in but do not run your game with it in.
Run SimPE and chose the hood N999.
Extract the sims.

Remember to remove and do not run your game with this in because the internal numbers is the same as the tutorial is.

Or place these in your SaveSim file.

There are 5 sims that I think there the same for the 2 females and the 3 males, they just have different poses.

This is the tutorial hood that I renumbered so it would show up in SimPE and the saved sims files are the tutorial families.

Could you tell us what this is and how it was made? I'd rather know before trying it myself.
