2.) All lots submitted must be new, original designs. There will be no 'flipping' of pre-made Maxis homes allowed, or use of downloaded homes.
3.) All community lots are to be created only on 2x2 size lots!
4.) Any buildings created for contest may have only 2 floors. No attics, no basements.

I'm joining! Never made it past round I of a building contest before (see sims real estate in the Houses link) but this sounds fun - a community lot! *runs off to start her game* :mdance:

*EDIT: No application round?

I have just finished building Simville Community Park, and have a question regarding the pictures. I always take my pictures using FRAPS. I play on a notebook, and don't even know if there is a printscreen button. Can I use FRAPS, or do I have to use the in-game camera?

I have to work this afternoon, but will take my pics and post when I get home. This should be a good contest, so hopefully lots join! I can't build houses to save my life, but have knocked up some decent community lots.

Hate to say it, but I had to look up what that was first. LOL! Yes, you can use that to do your pics.

Okay, town council is full. We just need an emergency council member and some more contestants!

All in due time. No person is listed as a contestant until they actually post an entry.

MissTech- I know I said I would post when I got home from work, but I am absolutely buggered. I am getting up early in the morning to do uni work and will post then.

I am having a hard time getting the photos, as the lot is so small with so much crammed in. May have to move some things around to get a decent shot!

Oh, and thankyou re. the use of FRAPS!

Norikoann - Round 1
Here is a park for Simville Town.

It's a quaint little oriental park.

It includes two benches by the little stream. A bridge spanning the stream. A little fountain. There is a flower covered hill perfect for sitting an rolling on.
Some zen rocks to consider. And for those who are spiritual a shrine is provided. For relaxation the park includes a little onsen to forget your troubles in. And right next to it is a traditional gong. Don't worry about your kids, you can put them in the fenced off kids play center where there are plenty of activities to keep them occupied, having fun, and fit. At the back of the park on each side is a restroom, also useful for changing into your swimsuit for the onsen.

My favorite feature is the onsen and shrine.

Default Simsimsims ~ Round 1
Couldn't resist this contest. I'm failing miserably with my dorm building (see perfect dorm contest) But thought I would see if my community lot building was any better.

Here is the Brand new park for Simville Town, This park is perfect for children and adults alike. With a fun hedge maze to keep the children happy, the adults can relax by the tranquil pond. There is a play area, lined with fine wooden chippings so your children can play safe. There is a Toilet block consisting of male and female lavatorys.
With plenty of greenery the simville park offers a peaceful place for you to relax. From beautiful waterfalls to the most wonderful flowers summer could bring this sure is the place to come on a hot summers day. There will be no problems here, with security officers regularly keeping watch and a fence surrounding the perimeter your children will always be safe.
To me it is so important that the park is full of rich colours. It just makes it so much more enjoyable on a day out. The flowers will attract all kinds of wildlife, making the park such a nice environment to relax in.

Views from the park:

The pond has the finest fish, and is often a place where beautiful wildlife can be seen. Includes benches for you to sit on.

Overview shot of park:

I hope this is ok. If anything is wrong or the pictures arn't ok I can re-do as I have too much time on my hands :P

With the recent cashflow into Simville, it was decided by the Town Council that the first project they would tackle was the local park.

With a large play area for children as a major feature, young Sims will be able to play to their hearts content.

The architects favourite feature is the family eating area, specifically designed to promote family bonding and enjoyment.

The architect also favours the chess area build for those slightly older Sims who like to relax and socialise under the old willow trees.

Finally, a toilet block was built for the times when a Sim just needs to...go. The toilet block features both male and female restrooms and the Town employs a cleaning service to maintain cleanliness at all times.

The archietct hopes that the Town Council is happy with the upgrades made to Simville Community Park, but has it on good authority from the Sim residents of Simville that they enjoy the park immensely!

Edit- I ended up putting the no red pause lines hack into my game, and spent the last few hours retaking my photos. I think they look much better without the ugly red lines. Thanks, clw8 for linking to the hack! BTW- I found it difficult enough the first time to take decent shots. Try retaking them and trying to get them exactly the same!

erm, I was kinda hoping that getting rid of that in paint would be ok. When I printscreen my pictures into paint I get the whole screen in the pic anyway
(including desktop as i play in windowed mode. so i just use the select tool in paint to select the picture inside the pause line, if that makes sense.

If it is against the rules to trim it to size in paint then I will of course go back and just post the original screen shots including desktop e.c.t.

Hey simsimsims and Tenielle when I read you all's comments, it made me think of a hack I'd seen before. So, since it will fix ya'll issues, I figured I'd be cool / nice and post it: http://www.insimenator.org/showthread.php?t=62217 . It's a hack that removes the red pause lines.
