Default [Solved] Depreciation became appreciation
I noticed a while back that when selling items the price is more than the original buy price (I hope my explanation is a bit clear).
Normally when you buy an item, go to live mod and then sell the item again, there is some depreciation.
But in my game when I buy an item of 4,499, go to live mod and then sell te item again, my household will get 5,000 for it.
What can be the cause of this?
Anyone had a similar problem?
I have downloaded some stuff the last few month since I started playing again, but none of them that can be causing such a bug.

Thanks a lot for any help!

I think that some things like art appreciate. Your item has become an antique and worth something.

It happens with eg beds too.
I discovered something new now: It seems like the bed costs less in buy mode than it should.
So the buy mode items cost less than they should and when I sell them I get the original buying pirce, but as the buy mode price is less than the original buy mode price...
I hope you can still follow my explanation. It's not easy to explain.

Something like getting things cheaper (a benefit from having a business) can explain this, but this household doesn't have a business.

Well a bed should not appreciate, is it a game bed or a cc one?

It's a game bed.
But it appears to only happen in one neighbourhood, and with only one household (that I know of, I checked some, not all).
It's the neighbourhood pleasantview of the Genderswapped Megahood. It happens in the family Goth.
So when the Goth's buy something from buy mode it costs less than when the family Broke buys the same thing.
I have been playing with the Goth's the most lately. It's probably a corruption of that one lot, but what can cause such a corruption?

The Goth house thing doesn't have to be corruption (although it should be with their fortune): there exist a reputation reward that gives one family at a time the right to buy things cheaper from the catalog (http://cyjon.net/node/210).

So because I have played the family for a while their reputation got better and they got this reward without me noticing. I am going to check their reputation in game asap.
Thanks!

Edit
I checked those rewards here: http://sims.wikia.com/wiki/Reputation
While reading it I remembered that Caspian Goth (the male Cassandra) got a secret networking card (or memvership or whatever) and at the time and didnt pay attention to it. But now I read that one of the benefits is getting a 10% discount on catalog items which is the amount the Goths get when I thought something was czusing corruption.
Thanks so much for helping me clearing this out. I almost started the 50/50 method for nothing.
Guess the game can still surprise me after 10 years.
