Default UAC Disable
I am having a problem with Sims2Pack Content Installer. It was suggested in a different forum that I come here to see if anyone can help with disabling UAC temporarily .

I did a internet search for disabling the UAC so I do know how now, thanks.

It's better to work around UAC than disable it. What's the problem you're having?

She needs to edit a file in Program Files and the O/S won't let her:

Go to Start -> Programs, right-click Notepad and hit Run as administrator. Then you'll be able to use File -> Open from within notepad to open the .ini file, make your changes, and save.

And yes - installing things outside of Program Files is a good idea. Doing that retains the most useful elements of UAC protection (process launch checks) without locking you out of your own files.
