*Sickbay*

Melena entered sickbay and caught the attention of one of the doctors. She was just about to ask about the captain when she heard the shouting from one of the medical bays. She walked over to see what the situation was and overheard the last part about the transportation.

Melena: Captain, Lt. Riddle, how are you? Is everything alright here? The androids are being tranferred to the Mead right now, Lt. Cmdr. Hal is in charge from our side. Captain Saffin will be arriving in approximately forty-five minutes for debriefing.

Hal: (through com) Hal to Cmdr. Melena, we're ready for transport from the brig but we're still waiting on Ezra. We've just received word from engineering stating that she's fine to travel but theres a risk of further cascade failure.

Melena: We'll be sure to warn them, thankyou Melena out. (to Patton) Do I assume correctly that neither of you will be attending the debriefing?

Tahlandi is still studying the scans of Thellin's brain activity during the recent telepathic attacks. He rubs his head and sighs in frustration this just doesn't make sense suddenly he feels a presence looming over him as he turns he notices NCO Archer, the Aenar counselor. Tahlandi suppresses a giggle because he can just image Lt.jg Sharpp's reaction to Archer's presence, he personifies the two things their beloved neurotic temporary CSO hates the most a telepath and a counselor.

Archer: I heard you needed assistance with a neuropsychological puzzle. I'm correct that this is about the hybrid Thellin.
Tahlandi: Yes I could use some help, the more I study this scans the more I'm puzzled by it. Look at this this is the brainwave patron of Thellin, I compared it with the scans of a full Aenar and factored in his Andorian make-up but it can't explain the anomalies I found.
Archer: How do you mean.
Tahlandi: Well look at this spikes when he got entangled in the telepathic link, I've never seen this patron before.
Archer: I see, maybe those spikes are external or due the telepathic entanglement.
Tahlandi: I thought so at first but look at this. *shows a brain image*
Archer: Which species does this brain belong to.
Tahlandi: It's Thellin's brain
Archer: Fascinating.

*sh'Raazh's quarters*

sh'Raazh: come on Rich get dressed we can't go to a staff meeting looking like this, where did I leave my tunic.

*Thellin, Tahlandi and Tigan's quarters*

Tigan begins playing his mother message and is unpleasantly surprissed by the news she brings him. Apparently the Romulan government has started to crackdown on Federation citizens near the Neutral zone borders and all Romulan citizens with ties to people who serve in the Federation in any capacity are being arrested at random clearly the Romulans have not taken kind to the recent turns in Federation politics.

Patton: Yes, I am. Give me a moment to--

EMH: *entering* Actually, you won't. Lie back, Captain, you're too weak to attend any debriefings.

Patton: Dammit, why does everyone insist on protecting me? I think I'd know better than some projection from hell if I felt like going somewhere!

Patton slid to the edge of the hospital bed, trying to stand. She made it to her feet before falling forwards, the pain being too much. The EMH moved to catch her.

EMH: You've been relieved of duty for now. And as I'm in charge of Sickbay for the time being, I order you back to bed. No argument.

Patton: *struggling* Let me go or I'll dismantle your program myself!

*sh'Raazh's quarters*

Richie was lying face down on the bed, clothed in only a sheet.

Kimble: *muffled* I threw it over the lamp in the living area... Do you think we can keep the volume down a little? It feels like a warp breech in my skull...

*Vortikan Vessel:

Kezi gives a suspicious and knowing glance as she looks over at Barclay before a smile goes across her face.

Kezi: Oh, I have my resources, lieutenant... But truthfully, someone mentioned it to me. A long time ago, actually, before I had even met you. A transporter operator kept talking about a human named Lieutenant Barclay who was terrified of the teleporter and thought that there were monsters living in it that were attacking him.

*Sickbay*

Riddle goes and helps the EMH to virtually drag Patton back to her bed.

Riddle: *extremely frustrated* God damn it Sarah! You were just gutted, your intestines were all over the floor of sickbay for logic's sake! You almost died! You need to recover, so stop being so f*cking thick headed!

Alex becomes quiet for a moment as he attempts to collect his thoughts.

Riddle: *more calmly* I'm sorry, I am just incredibly worried about you. The doctor is right.

Sara relented and allowed herself to be dragged back into bed. She pulled out of Alex's and the EMH's grasp and turned as far away from them as possible.

Patton: *crying* Shut up, you green-blooded b*stard...

EMH: Perhaps it would be best to leave them be, Commander.

Silently, the EMH escorted Cmdr. Melena out of the recovery room.

Riddle: Oh like you have room to talk! ... Listen, there is no reason to fight over this. But you are not a doctor, you are a hard headed Starfleet captain. Whether you want to believe it or not, you're in no position to do anything right now but try to recuperate.

*Vortikan Vessel*

Kezi: You know Reg, I'm not sure why you think this relationship is over... I don't think you're insane, quite the contrary really. Its nothing to be ashamed of, everyone is scared of something. *laughs* You know what I'm scared of? I mean, what I've been incredibly scared of since I was a little girl? Kezi sighs as she looks at the vastness of space ahead. She considers the complexity of relationships. Things as simple as your interaction with the attendant at the replomat can be expedentially more complicated than it appears. So intimate, interpersonal relationships are simply astronomical. Why all the complexity? She wonders, why can't everyone just coexist without conflict?

Kezi: I know Reg, its alright. *smiles* But I'm not letting you get away from me, not without a fight at least.

*Sickbay*

Riddle opens his mouth and starts to say something, but he stops and simply turns and walks out of the room, and then out of sickbay, ignoring a nurse's plea for him to stop.

*Corridor*

Riddle walks, trying to clear his mind and drying to decide what to do next, and more importantly, where to go. He couldn't go back to the captains quarters, they never really felt like home to begin with, and suddenly they seem far less inviting. All filled with her belongings, her decorations, everything in there is her. It isn't that he doesn't care about her, because he certainly does. But right now, he finds himself rethinking everything. Perhaps they were only put together because of some primordial vulcan mating bond. Perhaps, without that, they weren't even remotely compatible.

He notices him that the members of the crew he is passing are all giving him strange looks, and none of the usual overly polite greetings. Finally, a suliban medic steps asside and stops him.

Sorrid: Lieutenant Commander Riddle? Are you alright, sir? Perhaps we should both go back to sickbay...
Riddle: I'm fine, I just need to get to the lab.
Sorrid: Forgive me sir, but do you usually go to the lab in starfleet issued pajamas from sickbay?

Riddle looks down and realizes that Sorrid was correct, he had stormed out of sickbay in such a hurry, that he didn't even bother to put socks or shoes on.

Riddle: Crewman, please. I really don't need to go to sickbay right now. I can't go to sickbay right now. I just need to go to my office and get some sleep, or meditate, or something. I don't even know.
Sorrid:Sir, I don't think that's a good idea.
Riddle: What do you want from me? I'm fine, really. I just... I got into a fight with the captain and left in a hurry, ok? I'm sure you can find it within yourself to empathize.
Sorrid: Aye, sir, if you insist.

*Science Lab*

Riddle finally makes his way to the science lab, where he continues to get strange looks from most of the officers. He ignores them and walks into his office, the door is already open. Sharpp sits at his desk behind the ever growing pile of PADDs and memos. He looks up above the rim of his spectacles and smirks at his commanding officer.

Sharpp: Ah, its good to see you, Alex. Has starfleet changed the uniform protocol again?
Riddle: I don't want to talk about it.
Sharpp: Thats great sir, because I don't want to know.
Riddle: How long have you been here?
Sharpp: Since you put me in command.
Riddle: Damn, you're more diligent than I am.
Sharpp: Oh, I know. They didn't let me stay in starfleet because of my charming personality and good looks, you know. Judging by your attire, I take it that you aren't here to help me with the paperwork.
Riddle: Sorry, but you better get used to it. Who knows, you might be in for a promotion soon, if things keep going the way they have been.
Sharpp: I certainly hope not, I never cared for all of the glitz and glamor of a command position. That and it would get in the way of my drinking habit.
Riddle: Perhaps you're on to something... Anyway, Sharpp. I want you to get out of here, I need to get some sleep.
Sharpp: Don't most people sleep in beds? I mean, I personally prefer the floor of my closet- but, to each their own.

With that, Sharpp gathers his work and moves to the more public area of the main laboratory, giving his superior officer the requested privacy. Giving a disapproving glance to the telepathic counselor on his way to an area of empty desk space.

Sharpp is startled by the aenar who suddenly stuck the PADD under his nose. He looks up at Archer in a disapproving and annoyed manner before pulling the information out of his hand and looking over it himself.

Sharpp: What do you want me to say, counselor? This is most unusual... I've never seen anything quite like this and can't even come close to identifying this mystery brainwave patron without further information. I would probably be able to give you a more difinitive answer if I ran some more tests. *sarcastically* Or perhaps you should just use your telepathic abilities on Thellin and try to decide for yourself. Afterall, it only caused excrutiating pain and brain damage to the last officer.

He slides the PADD to the other end of the counter and attempts to get back to work. He really was honest about things. It wasn't that he was uninterested in the brainwaves of the andorian officer. Sharpp enjoys a good mystery as much as the next scientist, but he really can not give a conclusive answer from such limited information. If they wanted to identify this, they would likely need to do quite a bit more testing.

Dr. Lennox was forced to cut his meal with Katian short and report to the observation lounge, for what he considers to be a completly arbitrary meeting with the senior staff of the SS Mead. At that moment, Melena arrived with Hal, who for once did not have Kira tailing him, and noticed that Vado had jumped the gun a little and transported the Mead team over a little early. The commader had almost forgotten the correct procadure for greeting guests, but she was new at this after all. She looked over at the two new officers and looked at Hal before fixing her most gracious smile.

Melena: Captain Saffin, commander Kreg, welcome to the Maverik. I apoligise for not being present during your transport but I was enquiring on the condition of Captain Patton. Neither she nor our science officer will be attending but they send their kindest regards. Shall we make our way to the Observation Lounge?
